The Ponds

Natural Gardens is the perfect location to have your dream Catskill Barn Wedding, family or business party!

The Natural Gardens ponds are shallow bodies of freshwater that are no more than 10-12 feet deep. All of our ponds are spring fed and filled with wildlife including fish, frogs dragonflies and more. Because the sunlight reaches the bottom of our ponds, plants grow here as well as on the surface and sides. These underwater plants are considered submergent and include horntail and bladderwort plants. Emergent plants are tethered to the bottom with roots, but they also rise out of the water, growing flowers just above the surface. Emergent plants include waterlilies, cattails and reeds. Floating plants, such as watercress, float on the surface of the pond and have no roots.

Our ponds provide many backdrops for ceremonies and wedding photos. We provide Adirondack chairs and benches for you and your guests to relax and enjoy the ponds. A few of the ponds are connected by small waterfalls that cascade off of the rocks. Our large Koi are always a conversation as they will follow you around the pond anticipating food!

The ponds reflect light from the 100’s of solar lights placed around the edges of the ponds. On cool nights, the mist will rise from the water providing a great atmosphere.
